Economic growth depends on an educated workforce capable of taking advantage of economic opportunities.
Africa lags far behind the rest of the world in the investment in people necessary to achieve such growth. There might be various reasons that
Africa is still suffering from human and other resources to grow its economy.
Supporting African education by helping to improve access to and the quality of education is vested in governments and an elite group bent on a deadening entitlement to corruption and developmental ignorance. Africans must resist that self-serving, easy enrichment and focus most of their efforts on improving primary and basic education, especially for girls. All friends of
Africa must support creative efforts by people in western and African countries to reform education and business systems. There is a lot everyone can contribute and that contribution can help pull
Africa out of its self inflicted poverty and ignorance. Most will try to blame the West for the problems, but truly, the problem in the last thirty years is largely the African. |
